IRAQI CRUDE EXPORTS RISE IN FEBRUARY AS PRODUCTION REACHES POSTWAR RECORD |
04-03-2010 |
Exports of Iraqi crude oil reached an average of 2.08 Mbpd last month, up from 1.96 Mbpd in January, Reuters reports. The southern port of Basra saw volumes depart at an average of 1.61 Mbpd in February, whilst 471 kbpd were exported from the Kirkuk fields. The rise in imports coincides with the country’s highest production levels since November 2001, reports Energy Intelligence. Output hit 2.63 Mbpd last month as good weather and a reduction in sabotage attacks allowed infrastructure to perform unhindered.
