JAPAN’S CRUDE IMPORTS RISE IN JANUARY |

Japan’s crude imports rose 7.6% y-o-y in January to average 4.08 mb/d, reversing the declining trend seen over the last few months, reports Energy Intelligence. Volumes from top supplier Saudi Arabia were up 6.2% at 1.2 mb/d, while shipments from the UAE were down 2.5% at 770 kb/d. Imports from Iran and Kuwait both fell 19.2% and 24.9% respectively, to 413 kb/d and 250kb/d. These declines were slightly offset by a 24.4% rise in volumes from Qatar to 499 kb/d. |
